The Spring Village Picture Cards are a set of illustrated cards representing words Mandarin Chinese. The words make minimal pairs which are matched for tone, and contrast in one speech segment, as illustrated by the word pair 村 'village' and 春 'spring' (Hanyu Pinyin: cūn, chūn; IPA: [tsʰūn] [ʈʂʰūn]). The picture cards can be used for speech elicitation and word recognition tasks, and are suitable for use with primary school aged children.

This collection was initiated by Hannah Letitia Goh as part of her PhD research in the Brain, Language and Intersensory Perception Lab, supervised by Suzy J Styles. Audio recordings elicited with these stimuli can be found in the Growing Collection.
