Research topics:

My research interests lie at the intersections of migration, labour studies and the urban development of Southeast Asia. My new research (Project How CAN) aims to advance our understanding of how urban development can co-habit alongside nature in Singapore by asking how can the city and nature cohabit in Singapore. Project How CAN moves beyond coexistence and recognizes that urban cohabitation with more-than-human lives encompasses both coexistence and conflict across human and non-human inhabitants of the city. I am currently wrapping up Project Animating Migration (Project AniMi) which addresses migration governance through the politics of skill.
