The Ability Data Project aims to establish an Asian-centric normative and patient movement database consists of kinetic and kinematic data.

  • The normative movement database provides a benchmark of normal movements, and it can be used as a reference against individuals with movement impairments to determine the severity of the impairment, effectiveness of treatment, rehabilitation progress and to develop new rehabilitation technologies and methods.

  • The patient movement database contains patients with neurological and orthopaedic conditions and will be tracked longitudinally. Changes in kinetic and kinematic parameters across time could then be used to estimate the trajectory of the recovery.

Gait assessment is fundamental for the evaluation of mobility. The 10-meter walk test is an established measure of gait speed in meters/second. Its simplicity in administration contrasts with the loss of a substantial wealth of biomechanical information when it is conducted alone...
100 Normative Gait Profiles with 5-year fall tracking(Nanyang Technological University)
    Feb 12, 2026
We present Southeast Asia’s first large-scale fast-gait 10-meter walk dataset (100 older adults) with motion capture, plus a five-year fall-risk tracking follow-up model.
